HENEGHAN PENG ARCHITECTS
Facade engineering for new visitor centre on World Heritage Site, appointed 2010/2011
Humid / wet, sea side, very salty conditions, stainless steel façade with post tensioned basalt mullions. An interesting bespoke design where DMP will take structural design responsibility to open up the range of potential bidders and to allow separate packages to be bid for the stone and for the glass while insuring proper integration of the separate packages.
Construction cost: £12 million whole visitor centre.
