Mulberry School

The new extension to the existing 1960’s school building has been designed to create an additional 200 m2 of classroom space and a new play area of 200m2 at roof level. In order to prevent closure of the school during construction the new structure was designed to bridge 20m  over the existing two storey structure supported on four cantilever columns. The columns are supported on 21m long piled foundations which were installed during the Easter break period and the prefabricated steel trusses and floor panels will be installed during the summer break. The building will be fully clad by the end of the summer and the internal finishes will be completed by the end of the year

Project cost £1.4M
