Rationalising the diagonal grid of steel beams and proposing diamond shaped glass panels to match the steel grid rather than the rectilinear glass panels that had been originally considered resulted in a price reduction of $12M and a reduction in the overall wall thickness of one metre.
The reduced price provided sufficient budget to develop a double cavity IG unit with a steel mesh introduced in the inner cavity to eliminate glare and reduce radiant heat.
Façade Design Engineering for sloped diamond curtain wall.
